Dr. Nidhi Kotak is a dual American- and Canadian board-certified Pediatric Dentist, Certified Lactation Counselor, and proud mom of two who is passionate about helping children feel comfortable, confident, and cared for at the dentist.

Now based in Dubai as a Consultant Pediatric Dentist, she has practiced in five countries across North America, the Middle East, Africa, and Asia — an unconventional journey that has shaped the clinician she is today.

A Fellow of the Royal College of Dentists of Canada and a Diplomate of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry, Dr. Kotak completed her specialty training at Temple University Hospital, where she served as Chief Resident. There she developed a special interest in infant oral health and breastfeeding support, becoming a Certified Lactation Counselor and pursuing advanced training in tongue-tie and lip-tie care.

Because no two children are the same, every patient — from infants and special-needs patients to anxious first-timers — receives a tailored care plan. No one-size-fits-all protocols and no fear-mongering: just honest clinical guidance and options that genuinely fit your family’s needs, whether that means a routine visit in the chair or sedation and hospital-based treatment for more complex cases.

Outside the clinic, Dr. Kotak trained in improv at The Second City in Chicago — skills she still uses daily, since kids are often the best improvisers and a little laughter goes a long way. She is also the creator of @babytoothdentist, where she shares practical, evidence-based oral-health advice with over 24,000 followers worldwide.

Recognition & Awards: Dr. Kotak’s contributions to pediatric dentistry have been recognized with the Lucy Hobbs “Woman to Watch” Award (2023) and the Young Outstanding Dentist Award. She has published research in international dental journals, including the AAPD Journal, previously held a faculty position at the University of British Columbia, and has taken part in dental outreach programs in rural India and Kenya.
